Before writers get going on a draft, they think a lot about ways to make a draft into a really good story. But once they’re in the midst of the story, they try to lose themselves in it. They become the characters, and writing is a bit like a drama, happening to them. Today, we worked on doing just that…pretending to BE character. Putting yourself in the character shoes and deciding what the character would, think, feel, do, in an important scene…creating more DRAMA. Work on other parts of your story to increase the drama and make connections between characters and within the character him/herself. Make sure your revisions are in a different colored font. I’ll be checking it Wednesday in class.
