Ever since I was young, working with children has been a passion of mine. I was born and raised in Bar Harbor where my mother had a home daycare. This is where my love for helping children first began. I attended University of Maine at Farmington from 2010-2014, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I was fortunate enough to complete my student teaching with Angela Paulsen at Pemetic Elementary. Shortly after, I accepted the first grade position at this wonderful school.
Since starting my career at Pemetic in 2014, I taught first and second grade. Starting in 2022, I became the Response to Intervention Coordinator. My day is spent supporting students in small groups and in the classroom in all areas of learning. I help coordinate supports for students, facilitate grade level meetings with staff, and consult with classroom teachers.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family: my husband, Ben, and two kids, Cameron and Maya. We have the most gentle, loving yellow lab, Wally, who brings a lot of joy to our family. I enjoy hiking/walking the beautiful trails on MDI, reading, and lounging at our family camp on Green Lake.
CommunicationThe best way to contact me is through email. I do my best to send home monthly newsletters to keep families up to date on all that is going on in the classroom.
