MDIRSS K-8 LIBRARIES
PEMETIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Remote Learning Resources
You have come to the right place to: look for a book, download an e-book or audio book, get research help, discover new authors, chat with a librarian and much more.
The Pemetic School is fortunate to have a vibrant library space and a skilled and welcoming librarian, Tracey McCarthy. Students, staff and community members can peruse our books, use one of our 3 computers for internet research, or use our space for programming and meeting facilities. If you cannot find what you are looking for in our collection, you can take advantage of our relationships with local, regional and statewide libraries and find just the right book in about a week. In addition to our onsite reference materials, you can access the many online journals and databases on MARVEL! Your school librarian is here to help you with finding books, but also with organizing programs, library and research skills, and parent/teacher collaboration. Feel free to contact to pursue any interest or goal that you, your child or student may wish to explore.

Grades 3-5 can check out three books at a time for a period of 2 weeks
Grades 6-8 can check out six books at a time for a period of 3 weeks.
Books may be renewed if they are not in high demand.
While we do not charge late fees, we do charge a replacement fee for lost or unreturned books.
Some more mature titles geared toward middle school aged students may require a parent signed permission slip before they can go home with younger students.
Through a cooperative agreement with the Southwest Harbor Public Library, titles not available at the Pemetic Library may be borrowed by students through the local library, or ordered from another Maine library through inter-library loan. A parent signed permission slip is required before we can request books from remote libraries.
Downloadable audio and e-books are available to your student via a district consortium.
