The Pemetic School is fortunate to have a vibrant library space and a skilled and welcoming librarian, Janet Elvidge. Students can use one of our 2 computers for using the library catalog to find a book. If you cannot find what you are looking for in our collection ask Ms. Elvidge. In addition to our onsite reference materials, you can access the many online journals and databases on Digital Maine Library. Your school librarian is here to help you with finding books and research. Feel free to contact . Ms. Elvidge is here 8am-3:00pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 8am-noon on Thursdays.

Library Hours
is here Tuesdays + Wednesdays 8am-3pm and Thursdays 8am-12pm. She teaches library classes to PrK-5th graders, manages the library collection and works with teachers and assists students.
Lending & Library Policies
Grades K-1 can check out one book at a time for a period of 1 week.
Grades 2-5 can check out two books at a time for a period of 2 weeks
Grades 6-8 can check out three books at a time for a period of 3 weeks.
Books may be renewed if they are not in high demand.
While we do not charge late fees, we do charge a replacement fee for lost or unreturned books.
Some more mature titles geared toward middle school aged students may require a parent signed permission slip before they can go home with younger students.
Through a cooperative agreement with the Southwest Harbor Public Library, titles not available at the Pemetic Library may be borrowed by students through other MDIRSS Libraries.
Downloadable audio and e-books are available to your student via a district consortium.
