Good Afternoon,
As you may be aware, the MDIRSS AOS # 91 recently held several community engagement forums specific to long-range planning and how we may consider increased efficiency and potential cost savings across our district balanced with local control and community/school identity.
A significant amount of feedback and data has been collected specific to this initiative and may be found on our district website under the long-range planning tab. In consideration of this information and potential next steps the AOS # 91 School Board has established subcommittees in the following areas to identify recommendations for potential next steps:
- Middle-level Education
- Food Service
- Educational Technicians
- Transportation
- School Calendar
Each of the above subcommittees will be compromised of school board members, teachers, support staff, administrators and community members and will meet to identify recommendations specific to each of these areas. Please consider this outreach as an invitation to join a subcommittee or provide feedback if you are unable to attend personally. We welcome your input and hope you are able to participate in this process.
As the committees undertake this work, we will continue to provide updates and report findings through the MDIRSS AOS # 91 school board in December.
Thank you for your consideration of this information. Please contact my office (telephone: 207.288.5049) or email: marc.gousse@mdirss.org should you be interested in participating in this process. We value and appreciate your continued support of our students, staff and schools.
Sincerely,
Marc Edward Gousse, Ed.D.
