Dear Families,
I am writing to let you know of a recent change to our lunch program. The federal government has issued a waiver until December 31, 2020 allowing all schools to serve any child 0-18 years of age for free.
We are offering a weekly bulk bag of food to children during remote learning (September 8-25, 2020). Once we return to in-person learning, free breakfast and lunch will be available to attending students. Those families opting for virtual learning will also be eligible for free meals, and there will be a daily pick up time to be announced.
Please call Pemetic at 244-5502 or email to sign up for bulk meals during remote learning.
In addition, part of our state and federal funding is based on our Free/ Reduced lunch count. This money pays for Title 1 ed techs, the MLTI laptop program, the school internet, as well as professional development. The waiver allowing us to serve free meals will expire on December 31, 2020. The Free/Reduced lunch application this year is online. It would be so helpful, if you would take the time to fill in the form, even if you feel you won’t qualify, before December 31st. All information is confidential. Again, this really benefits the school and allows the school to receive the maximum amount of federal funds.
